For two and a half weeks at the end of October and the beginning of November, 2013, the San Diego Natural History Museum's Biodiversity Research Center for the Californias science departments joined our Mexican colleagues from the research centers of La Paz (CIBNOR), Baja California Sur, and Ensenada (UABC, CICESE), Baja California for a biodiversity research expedition to the Sierra Cacachila east of La Paz. As a member of the museum's Entomology Department I did the three day drive down, accompanied by one of our volunteers, Kelly Beskin, to join Dr Michael Wall, Entomology Curator, and the rest of the researchers at Rancho El Chivato. The trip was very productive and details will be related in future posts. The insects and arachnids photographed and shown in the Sierra Cacachila section of this site represent a small sample of our collections. Labels and photo details will follow over the next few weeks. Thanks. Note: The photos in the Sierra Cacachila section have been placed in their group sections in Arachnids and Insects. The next entries are in December 2014.
